It’s that time of year again. Time to raise money for abortion funds!
If you follow me on social media, you probably know I’m once again participating in this year’s National Abortion Access Bowl-a-Thon. For the 3rd year in a row, I’m fundraising in my home state for the Eastern Massachusetts Abortion (EMA) Fund Triathlon.
I’m trying to raise $500 for abortion access and I still have $350 to go to reach my goal.
Reproductive rights are human rights. Abortion is healthcare. People should decide for themselves what’s right for their bodies and their lives. No one should ever be denied medical care due to an inability to pay.
If you support people’s right to have an abortion, it’s not a choice if you don’t have the means to choose. This is why I’m raising money, to help bridge the gap between healthcare and accessibility.
If you haven’t donated yet, now is the time to donate to my #Bowl14 page!
Make a donation before MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT (3/23) and EMA Fund will match your donation to West Fund in Texas, a new abortion fund serving Western Texas. With all of the clinics closing in Texas, West Fund could really use our help. You have the opportunity to double the impact of your donation!
What is EMA Fund?
The Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund (EMA Fund) is an all-volunteer organization working to ensure people have access to abortion.
EMA Fund “provides funding, financial strategizing, and logistical support to people who live in, or are having abortions in, Eastern Massachusetts and are unable to pay for their abortions. Additionally, the EMA Fund reduces social and economic barriers to abortion services through movement building, advocacy, and education.”
Founded in 1999, the EMA Fund is a member of the National Network of Abortion Funds.
What will my donation fund?
- $5 – Round-trip T fare from Somerville to Brighton
- $20 – Cab fare from Beverly to Lynn
- $40 – The need to travel out of state: bus fare to New York City
- $50 – RhoGAM shot for women with RH negative blood
- $100 – EMA Fund’s average monthly phone bill
- $600 – Average cost of a first trimester abortion in Boston
So please donate to my Triathlon team. No amount is too small. Whatever amount you can give will make a tremendous difference in someone’s life.
THANK YOU!!
