“A Vegan Thanksgiving” Video Embraces Compassion and Answers the Question “What Do Vegans Eat?”

“The truth is there is no contradiction between eating compassionately and honoring tradition.” — Colleen Patrick-Goudreau

I absolutely adore this quote from Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, one of my absolute favorite vegan chefs and cookbook authors (The Joy of Vegan Baking, The Vegan Table, Color Me Vegan). Always an inspiration of compassion, she reminds us Thanksgiving is supposed to be a joyous celebration of unity — of family, friends and community coming together. Not celebrating a turkey’s corpse.

Eating vegan doesn’t mean sacrificing the role of tradition and nurturing that food plays in the holiday. It’s a way to embrace compassion. So watch Patrick-Goudreau’s latest video in which she dispels vegan myths and provides fantastic tips on what to eat for a vegan Thanksgiving.

P.S. Her food rocks!
